Myofunctional therapy is an exercise-based treatment aimed at relieving the symptoms and conditions relating to the face, mouth and jaw. Some of the symptoms that are indicative of having a myofunctional disorder are: mouth breathing, frequent headaches, sore jaw, clenching/grinding, digestive issues, sleep disordered breathing/sleep apnea, history of ear aches/infections/tubes in the ears, orthodontic relapse, tongue-tie, focus issues etc.

Allison Trottier RDH, OMT

Allison Trottier has a varied educational background that lends itself nicely to providing therapy to clients of all ages. Allison has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2005. She moved to Nova Scotia from Ontario in 2010, where she was born and raised, and has now settled in the Halifax area. She was formerly an Early Childhood Educator and a T.E.S.O.L. instructor in South Korea. Allison has repeatedly taken on educator roles in different branches of the dental industry. Separate from any dental education, she has attained her advanced training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. Myofunctional Therapy and dental hygiene services are separate and distinct.
